Here’s another idea for a very tasty, yet quick snack that only requires a handful of ingredients. (And did you notice that I finally have new plates? 🙂 The Mr. said that I really needed some pretty plates to present my foods. See? We has now pretty plates. 🙂 )
Here’s what you’ll need:
- smoked salmon
- flour tortilla
- cream cheese (plain or with herbs)
- lemon juice
- freshly ground black pepper
This may be prepared in advance if desired. Evenly spread some cream cheese on the tortilla. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper.
Evenly cover with the salmon. Drizzle with a bit of lemon juice.
Tightly roll the tortilla up. If you want to store it for the next day, tightly wrap the roll in clear plastic foil. You could eat it the roll just like this, a bit like a burrito:
I would suggest to cut it up in bite sized pieces. Yes, it looks prettier, but it’s also more practical to just pop in your mouth while you’re hammering on your keyboard, beating up some bad guys in an exciting new dungeon. 😀
Hint #1: If you’re not into salmon, you can use any kind of sandwich meat instead. Ham or smoked turkey breast for example.
Hint #2: What goes really well with salmon is horse radish. If you can find a cream cheese which is flavoured with horse radish, that’s a really exquisite treat. (if you like it, that is. The Mr. doesn’t, so we go with herbed cream cheese on this one).
Hint #3: You could even use the Tuna Dip I introduced before as a spread instead of the cream cheese and the salmon. Be careful though that it isn’t too liquid.
